Founded in 1884, The Hong Kong Jockey Club has become one of Hong Kong's best known and respected organisations, providing the public with world-class sporting entertainment as well as being the city's major non-Government community benefactor. Our contribution to the community is made possible through our unique, not-for-profit business model that channels the surplus proceeds from responsible gaming into community benefits. The Club is now donating over HK$3.6 billion a year to charitable and community projects through its Charities Trust. The Charities Department provides support to the Board of Trustees in the task of granting donations to various non-profit organizations in support of community projects, including arts and culture, sports and recreation, youth services, elderly services, environmental protection, medical and health, etc.

JOB_DESCRIPTION:

  • Support the payment and monitoring function of Charities to monitor progress and vet payment claims of Trust-funded projects
  • liaise with grantee agencies for project progress monitoring and funding reimbursement matters
  • Support the capture, reporting and analysis of donations data for operational decision-making and management review
  • Manage auditors and various service providers to support the payment vetting function
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the outsourced service
  • Carry out other activities as necessary, including ah-hoc research, creating presentation and training materials and writing reports


ABOUT_YOU:

  • have a university degree or equivalent and major in accounting or financial related subject would be an advantage
  • a minimum of seven years\' relevant experience in accounting, auditing or payment vetting. Experience in NGOs and/or social service sector would be an advantage
  • have good computer skills in using Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint
  • have proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese
  • have good working and learning attitude, be a good team player and have the ability to work independently and under pressure
  • have passion in helping people and the community development

TERMS_OF_EMPLOYMENT:

The level of appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. A contract employment will be offered to the successful candidate. Contract renewal will be subject to mutual agreement between the Club and the individual.
