DEPARTMENT:

Our Property Department is committed to providing integrated, customer-centric, sustainable and cost effective asset management, development management, project management and facilities management services to the key Business Units in the Club.

JOB_DESCRIPTION:

About The Role


Reporting to the Director of Property, this position is responsible for leading (i) the design management team responsible for the interior design of racecourse, clubhouse, retail and residential renovation projects and (ii) the project management team responsible for the planning and execution of renovation, alterations & additions (A&A) and new-build projects in Happy Valley Racecourse, Hilltop-in-the-Valley, Blue Pool Road and all Retail Branches.

Key Responsibilities
  • Understand the needs and requirements of the Club's internal business, operational functions and stakeholders relating to the facilities development initiatives; Formulate short-, medium- and long-term strategies and solutions for property development, renovations, A&A and new-builds to address the needs and requirements of the Club's business and operational objectives
  • Lead and Manage the design process from inception to procurement stage and project execution from construction to testing & commissioning (T&C), handover and sign-off by Users and project closure, to ensure project completion according to agreed scope, schedule, cost, design and construction quality requirements, sustainability conditions, as well as all necessary safety, environmental, health, statutory and licensing requirements; Apply insights on planning, design, construction practice to ensure the best outcome of property development initiatives
  • Manage external consultants, contractors and suppliers to ensure satisfactory performance and quality end-product; Manage relevant government departments to ensure project compliance and timely statutory approvals; Manage internal stakeholders to ensure their needs are addressed and relevant inputs to the project are obtained in a timely manner
  • Formulate appropriate procurement and contract strategies for the sourcing, selection and appointment of consultants, contractors and suppliers for the development initiatives
  • Manage Report & Mitigate project-related risks from project inception to handover; Trouble-shoot at all project stages to ensure projects can proceed and complete according to agreed scope, schedule, cost, quality and sustainability requirements, as well as all necessary safety, environmental, health, statutory and licensing requirements; Manage, Control & Report project progress at various levels of the Club management; Ensure compliance with internal governance and processes
  • Ensure provision of the necessary skills and resources, to enable the achievement of project objectives; Ensure the systematic building of in-house capabilities across all staff levels to align with departmental and project needs
  • Introduce best practices in design, construction, project and procurement management; Identify the needs and areas for improvement and change; Implement change in the most effective and efficient manner


ABOUT_YOU:

Qualifications/ Requirement

  • Undergraduate and/or postgraduate degree in Architectural, Building Engineering discipline
  • 25+ years' experience in property-related development and construction industry in Hong Kong comprising (but not limited to) property planning and development, architectural-engineering-interior design, project management, construction management
  • Professionally chartered in a property-related discipline, e.g. Authorised Person, RIBA, MICE, RICS, PMP
  • Excellent leadership capabilities, with demonstrated experience in large-scale, multi-disciplinary property development projects and multi-project program management, involving quality renovation, A&A and new-build works, from inception to feasibility, design, procurement, construction and handover
  • Well-versed in latest property planning, development, design, construction, project management trends and practices in Hong Kong and overseas, including experience in dealing with relevant government departments at all stages of property projects
  • Excellent project, program and financial management skills, with a keen eye for design, aesthetics and design quality
  • Ability to work independently, with excellent organisational, communication, influencing, negotiation and stakeholder management capabilities


TERMS_OF_EMPLOYMENT:

The level of appointment will be commensurate with qualification and experience. A contract employment will be offered to the successful candidate. Contract renewal will be subject to mutual agreement between the Club and the individual.
