Our Handicapping, Race Planning & International Racing Department has a vital influence on the balance and quality of racing in Hong Kong, and is responsible for the organisation and smooth running of Hong Kong's international races and associated events, as well as providing competitive opportunities for all Hong Kong's racehorse population. The department allocates ratings to horses with the aim of equalising their chances of success in handicap races, and plans a well-balanced racing programme to provide racing that is fair, competitive and exciting.

Hong Kong now has 31 international Group races, which are open to horses trained anywhere in the world. The department is in charge of planning and administering these races, as well as organising the functions and events associated with Hong Kong's flagship international race meetings, principally the Longines Hong Kong International Races, the FWD QEII Cup, the FWD Champions Mile and the Chairman's Sprint Prize.


You will:
  • Compile overseas racing records of horses competing in HK and overseas simulcast races
  • Deliver simulcast form guide content in a timely manner to various channels
  • Assist in maintenance and development of Racing Information and Simulcast Form Guide Systems including in requirement study, acceptance testing and documentation
  • Provide office application and computer support for internal users
  • Prepare regular and ad hoc horse and racing business reports and forecasts
  • Assist the managers in performing handicapping, race planning and racing information production functions
  • Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor
  • Option for part-time role to deliver racing operational duties at the races


You should have:
  • Bachelor degree preferably in computer-related or numerical analysis subjects
  • 2 years of working experience preferably in a relevant capacity
  • An interest in if not passionate about horse racing as a sport and business
  • Detail-mindedness to ensure accuracy and completeness of the deliverables
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, experience in MS Access applications and/ or Excel VBA will be an added advantage
  • Commitment to work non-standard office hours mainly to coincide with European time zone


The level of appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
