Our Legal Services Department provides legal support to all business units of the Club and associated companies. The Club's diverse business operations require the legal team to help the business units deal with complex matters by identifying risks and complications, guiding the business units around those obstacles whilst preserving the Club's reputation and integrity.


You will:
  • Provide support to the in-house lawyers in commercial negotiations and transactional related matters such as clearance for internal approval and prepare and review the relevant documents
  • Provide support to the in-house lawyers in amendments to the Betting Rules and related documents and betting transaction related claims from time to time
  • Provide support to the in-house lawyers in providing legal support to various business units of the Club and its affiliated companies (such as, Tai Kwun) for promotional, marketing and member / customer care initiatives and, where required, application of the Trade Promotion Competition Licence and/or the Amusements with Prizes Licence (including necessary liaison with the Office of Licensing Authority)
  • Translate from English to Chinese and vice versa documents of contractual or internal governance nature
  • Conduct legal research for matters related to the Club\'s operations and new initiatives
  • Liaise with competent governmental authorities for unusual situations encountered in application of operation licences
  • Provide support in training sessions organised by the Division of Legal and Compliance
  • Be content administrator of the page of the Department of Legal Services on the Club\'s intranet portal
  • Handle ad hoc assignments when necessary


You should have:
  • Holder of LLB (or equivalent) of any common law jurisdiction
  • At least 1-2 years of post-qualification experience or 5 years of experience of contract review job from sizable companies
  • Knowledge of racing and betting is a plus
  • Well versed with MS Word
  • Proactive, meticulous, flexible, and able to work under pressure
  • Detail-oriented with strong interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese
  • Good team-work spirit


The level of appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
